150 hearing and speech impaired children celebrate Christmas

Chennai, 22nd December 2021: Dr. John Joseph Foundation, anNGO working among the less fortunate children to create a change in their lives, regardless of religion, race or gender since 2008, organised Christmas Extravaganza – 2021 for 150 hearing and speech impaired children at CSI School for Deaf and Dumb, Santhome in Chennai.

Our chief guest Mrs. Suryakala, District Child Protection Officer, Chennai, graced the occasion by participating in the Christmas celebrations. Mrs. Padmapriya, CEO of Sanitation First India, Dr. Kamala Selvaraj, Founder GG Hospitals,Mr. Churchill Joseph, Founder of Dr. John Joseph Foundation along with the Board of Directors of Dr. John Joseph Foundation were also present.

Christmas arrived earlier than usual for these special kids as Dr. John Joseph Foundation made everything necessary to make ita memorable day for the kids of CSI School for Deaf and Dumb.The day began with games and stalls for these children, which they thoroughly enjoyed. It was overwhelming to witness the joy and excitement of the kids twofold, when Santa arrived and distributed gifts. The last event of the day was a fun filled show by an Illusionist. Children gave instant feedbacks with their smiles, expressions, applause and active participation. Later in the afternoon, a sumptuous meal was provided to complete the celebrations.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Churchill Joseph, Founderof Dr. John Joseph Foundation said, “Christmas is a season of giving and sharing. Every year, the foundation ensures to distribute gifts to less fortunate children during this festiveseason. This year, we wanted to create a colourful and livelyenvironment with games, gifts and good food for the Children at CSI School for Deaf and Dumb in Chennai who generally live in a world with no sound and music. Our Vision as a non-profit organisation is, to give the under privileged children hope and a future.” 


Dr. John Joseph Foundation runs a Child Care Institution (CCI) for the less fortunate children in Kilpauk. The foundation also runs GameCorp, sports development project for the tribal community, Edu Goal, where we support educational scholarship and Akshayam, a wonderful initiative that serves the hungry. The foundation has also worked with diplomatic missions in community development activities and has completed 13 years of service in Chennai.
