India is doing well and is the fastest growing economy. We have to our advantage – demographics, diversity, digitalization, decarbonization and democracy. Everyone should start with a higher purpose, build trust which can lead to collaboration and partnership. Companies should focus more on the culture than on the structure of the organisation. Being lifelonglearners and retaining the curiosity of a child will help. Seeing a new challenge for yourself is important. A good leader is one who creates more leaders. Future world is of collaboration and partnership.”
As an alumnus of the 1975 batch and one of the chief guests, Dr. Kumar, Founder & Chairman, Navin’s Builders said it is important to aim for both vertical and horizontal growth. “Horizontal growth aids in achieving materialistic ambitions, vertical growth happens when we have helped people genuinely. Over the last 36 years of Navin’s journey, we have stood by our founding principles of putting the customers’ interests first and we will continue to do that,” he said, while also insisting people to pay taxes to the government happily.
The inspiring speeches were followed by an entertainment programme which included pattimandram, singing and dancing, among others. The venue hall was filled with former students of the Government College of Engineering, Salem who came in along with their families.
