Her elevation to this prestigious position highlights India’s increasing influence and leadership in the field of refractive surgery.
ISRS is a leading global professional organisation dedicated to advancing the art, science and ethical practice of refractive, cornea, cataract and lens‑based surgery for improved vision. Members span more than 90 countries, reflecting its truly international reach and influence in ophthalmology. ISRS’s core objectives are to promote excellence in clinical practice and research, disseminate the latest surgical knowledge, support professional development, and elevate standards of patient care in refractive surgery worldwide.
Dr. Soosan Jacob is the second Indian to be elected as President of ISRS, following eminent ophthalmologist Dr. Amar Agarwal. This milestone highlights the continued contribution of Indian clinicians and researchers to the advancement of global eye care and underscores the country’s role in advancing clinical excellence, innovation and leadership in eye care.
