35th Sri Bhaktamara Stotra Recitation Competition Held Successfully at Agurchand Manmull Jain College

Agurchand Manmull Jain College, Meenambakkam successfully conducted the 35th Sri Bhaktamara Stotra Recitation Competition – 2026 witnessing enthusiastic participation from school students, college students, and members of the general public across Chennai and neighbouring districts. 715 students and members and elders participated in the competition and about 450 parents and members of general public attended the programme. 

The annual cultural and spiritual event, organised by the college as part of its heritage and value-based initiatives, aimed at promoting spiritual discipline, cultural continuity, and traditional Jain literature among diverse age groups. Participants competed in nine categories, ranging from Pre-KG children to college-level and non-student participants, with recitation of the Jain Mahamantra and graded recitation of verses from the Sri Bhaktamara Stotra.

The competition maintained high standards of spontaneity, correctness, Bhavam, pronunciation, memorisation, and presentation, reflecting the sustained legacy of the event now in its 35th editionMore than 100 prizes to winners, special cash awards for the best reciting students and a rolling golden trophy for the school which has bagged the maximum number of prizes, were distributed across categories, encouraging excellence and wider participation.

The event was conducted in a well-organised manner and concluded with a prize distribution ceremony attended by participants, faculty members from various schools, parents, and well-wishers. The management and the organising committee appreciated the disciplined participation and acknowledged the continued support from institutions and the community, making the event a resounding success
