the Urdu Makkal Katchi, we reaffirm our strong commitment to the Constitution of India and its core principles of justice, equality, liberty, fraternity, and protection of rights for all citizens, especially minorities.
With the aim of promoting education, community welfare, and interfaith harmony, we respectfully present the following suggestions for the Government’s kind consideration:
1. **Appointment of Urdu/Arabic Teachers**
Appoint qualified Urdu/Arabic teachers in schools and madrasas, and introduce Urdu as an optional subject in schools to strengthen linguistic and religious education for youth.
2. **Economic Upliftment and Skill Development**
Provide skill training in traditional trades and modern sectors for Urdu-speaking communities, along with easier access to credit and loans.
3. **Fair Representation and Wakf Property Utilization**
Ensure fair representation of minorities in government jobs and use Wakf properties effectively for education, housing, and community welfare.
4. **Targeted Development for Urdu-Speaking Areas**
Launch special development schemes for Urdu-speaking localities across Tamil Nadu.
5. **Enhanced Welfare for Religious Functionaries**
Expand welfare support — building on schemes like the Ulema Pension Scheme — for Imams, Moazzins, and Arabic teachers who have served selflessly for over 10 years.
6. **Allocation of Burial Grounds**
Allocate suitable land (at least one acre where possible) for burial grounds in Muslim-majority areas, using available government wasteland or natham land, to ensure dignity in last rites.
7. **Priority Construction of Compound Walls**
Speed up the ongoing scheme to build compound walls and pathways around burial grounds, especially where they are currently absent, for safety and respect.
8. **Formation of Village/Town Peace Committees**
Establish inclusive Peace Committees in every village and town, with representatives from all religions and castes, to promote dialogue, understanding, and lasting harmony.
9. **Free Arabic Coaching in Masjids and Madrasas**
Start free morning and evening Arabic coaching classes in every masjid and madrasa to make this valuable knowledge accessible to all.
10. **Review of Reservation Provisions**
Conduct a comprehensive review of reservation benefits for backward sections of the Muslim community, based on accurate demographic data, to ensure equitable access to education and employment in line with constitutional safeguards.
We believe these measures will greatly support educational progress, social dignity, and peaceful coexistence while fully respecting our Constitution.
We are committed to open and constructive dialogue with the Government and all stakeholders.
