99 years old, Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank Ltd., headquartered at Thoothukudi in coordination with VOC Port Trust and Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation has sponsored Miyawaki Dense Forest Formation Scheme at Palayamkottai road, Thoothukudi on the occasion of World Environment Day. Tamilnad Mercantile Bank has donated a sum of Rs.10.82 Lakhs under CSR activity to implement the dense forest scheme. In this connection the Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation has allotted 3 acres of land at Palayamkottai Road (Corporation Limit) to raise plants and trees under the Miyawaki Scheme. Tmt. Kanimozhi, Member of Parliament has planted the saplings and inaugurated the function on the occasion of World Environment Day.
