Paterson Cancer Center & Cancer Alleviation Foundation organised Free Cancer Detection Camp for General Public

Paterson Cancer Center situated in vadapalani, a comprehensive cancer care centre celebrated its 21stInaugural function in association with Cancer ALleviation Foundation, a charitable trust. The centre organised an exclusive Free cancer detection camp for the general public. It is a 30 days camp (19.06.2023 – 19.07.2023) with the expected coverage of more than 1200 people. As part of the Free cancer detection camp, the following investigations are done. Routine Blood and Urine routine and also Blood Urea, Serum Creatinine, Blood Sugar, ECG, X-Ray chest, Ultrasound and pap smear along with Specialist consultation when required were offered.

Justice Shri. P N Prakash was the chief guest who inaugurated the Free cancer detection camp and stressed the Importance of early detection. Shri. Krishmamachaari Srikkanth, former cricketer and commentator inaugurated the herbal garden and appreciated the utility of herbs in the integrated treatment of malignancy. Shri. Arun Kabilan, DCP (T.Nagar) once again stressed the importance of cancer awareness amongst  general public. Shri. V. Ponraj (Scientific advisor of Former President Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam) visited the homeo extract display and appreciated the usefulness of herbs in cancer care. Shri. TA Sekar (Former cricketer), Shri Dhamu (Actor, Educationist), Smt. Satya Rao (Advocate), Selvi. Aparnathy were other dignitaries who were in awe of the great work done in this institute towards patient care with more than 90% cure rate. There were many ambassadors (they are no longer patients, who are cured off the disease) who were present and shared their experiences during treatment.

S. Vijayaraghavan, Managing Director of Paterson Cancer Cancerelaborated on the treating modalities available in Paterson Cancer Center, which has completed educating and creating awareness among more than 15000 students coming from varoius schools (more than 300) of Tamilnadu. Paterson Cancer Cancer treated more than 16000 patients since its inception in 2003 and recorded a cure rate of more than 90%. Every year Paterson Cancer Cancer conducts Free cancer detection camp along with our inaugural day celebration running for a month. Anybody if detected positive for malignancy were treated free of cost. Paterson Cancer Center accolades – it is affiliated with Tamilnadu MGR university for B.sc Radiation Technology course. It is associated with Anna university for doing research using Raman Effect and produced 4 students. It was associated with IIT madras to do Infra-red and Near Infra-red Mammogram so that the whole population can be screened for early breast cancer costing only Rs.5-Rs.10 as part of a mission to create cancer free society.

Cancer is curable if detected and treated early. It is also preventable by adapting a prudent lifestyle. Participants of this program were educated about the cancer prevention and surveillance for those who have strong family history.
