Chennai, March 2025: The Chennai Dental Research Foundation (CDRF), in association with Rajan Dental Institute, proudly celebrates a significant milestone with ‘ZYGOMA – 1000’. This event marks the completion of 1,000 specialized zygoma dental implants in Rajan Dental Institute, the highest number of Zygoma Implants (Nobel Biocarecompany, Sweden) in South East Asia (The first zygoma implant in India was done at Rajan Dental Institute on 30/03/2007).

The Zygoma Implant Charity Pledge was launched by SrimatSwami Gautamananda Ji Maharaj (President of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission) in the presence of Prof. Dr. Gunaseelan Rajan (Medical Director, Rajan Dental Institute) and Prof. Dr. S.Jimson (CEO, Rajan Dental Institute). The Trustees of Chennai Dental Research Foundation (CDRF) received a copy of the pledge.

To commemorate this achievement, CDRF announced a groundbreaking charity initiative—pledging 100 Free Zygoma Implants for deserving patients in need of this advanced dental solution. This charity was also extended to the patients referred from Ramakrishna Math, Chennai & Ramakrishna Mission, India.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Gunaseelan Rajan, Medical Director, Rajan Dental Institute, said “Zygomaimplants are a revolutionary treatment for patients with severe bone loss in the upper jaw, providing a life-changing alternative for those who cannot receive traditional dental implants. Zygoma Implants help restore missing teeth in the upper jaw for people with mouth cancer surgery, black fungus (Mucormycosis), injury, road traffic accidents, congenital problems and severe bone disease which leads to loss of teeth even in younger patients.

The event concluded with few patients who have benefited from charity surgery for zygoma implants also shared their experience after the life-changing treatment at CDRF.
