Coimbatore, June 2024: In a commendable effort to contribute to environmental sustainability, the children from Coimbatore Metropolitan Ladies Circle 23 organized a plantation drive at Kumaraswamy Lake in RS Puram. Demonstrating their commitment to a greener future, they donated and planted over 100 saplings around the lake.
The initiative, held under the slogan “Plant a Tree Today for a Better Tomorrow,” aims to enhance the green cover around Kumaraswamy Lake, fostering a healthier ecosystem. The event saw enthusiastic participation from children, who were guided by volunteers and members of the Coimbatore Metropolitan Ladies Circle 23.
The event began with a brief educational session on the importance of trees in combating climate change, maintaining ecological balance, and providing clean air. Following this, the children, armed with gardening tools and saplings, eagerly participated in planting various native species around the lake.
Chief Guest Cr. Rani Mohan, Area 7 ACP, Ladies Circle India and Chairperson Cr Sapna Nagpal, CMLC 23 congratulated the children and applauded their dedication towards the cause.
