First of its Kind Post Graduate Well-Being Workshop in Tamil Nadu Organised by SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre

“Mental well-being is the foundation that enables medical professionals to care for others with compassion, clarity, and resilience”, the comment made by Additional Registrar Dr T. Mythili, helped set the tone for the inaugural ceremony of the mental wellbeing workshop for Post Graduate students at the SRM Medical college, Potheri campus. The session reiterated the commitment towards building strong communication bridges for sustained mental and emotional wellbeing. 

The workshop was facilitated by Dr Denis Xavier and Dr Suhas Chandran from St John’s Medical College, Bangalore fostered an environment of collaboration and open discussion, enabling participants to address key challenges in medical well-being.

The workshop inaugurated by Pro VC & Dean Dr Nitin M Nagarkar, featured a mix of group discussions, short input sessions, and active participation. The sessions covered work-life Balance, dealing with difficult situations and people, self-care, stress management, and interpersonal relationships.  The interactive format of the workshop encouraged active engagement and dialogue, underscoring the institution’s commitment to prioritising the holistic health of future healthcare professionals.

The guests also highlighted the importance of PG Well-being Programs and recognised the efforts of all involved. Medical Superintendent Dr R. Venkatraman and Psychiatry HOD Dr R. Arul Saravanan also lent their presence and backing during the inauguration. The presence of management underscored the significance of the workshop and their commitment to the well-being of the PG students.
