The effort by GEM Hospital to address this sensitive issue is highly commendable and I strongly believe that they could bring up a change in the society”.

Next to breast cancer, cervix cancer is second most common cancer. Cancers in uterus and ovary are silent cancers only known after becoming advanced stage. Cancer cervix is caused by virus and preventable by vaccination. Regular screening is the only way to detect cancer. GEM Hospital is a centre of excellence in laparoscopic and robotic removal of fibroid and cancer of uterus and ovary. Infertility is very common because of PCOD but it can be treated easily by laparoscopy.

On the occasion, Dr.C.Palanivelu, Founder & Chairman, GEM Hospitals said, “Health problems like Incisional hernia, Obesity, gall stone,  Kidney & urinary tract infections, Breast cancer, Cervical cancer etc. are most common in women. Due to fear of society and lack of confidence to speak about their health issues, many women are hesitant to approach a specialist. GEM Hospital wants to bridge this gap between a patient and the doctor relationship and hence the ‘Department of Reproductive Medicine and Comprehensive Women’s Centre’ is born. GEM gynaec team will take necessary steps to give personalized care to their patients, to create awareness about health issues faced by women and the need to get treatment at the right time.”
