March, 2026, Chennai: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) Executive Committee Member J. V. S. Arumugamsubmitted his formal expression of interest at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai, seeking to contest from the Nellithope Assembly constituency in Puducherry on behalf of the party.
The submission marks a significant step in the party’s preparatory process for the upcoming Assembly elections in the Union Territory. Aroumougam, a senior functionary within the party structure, completed the formalities in accordance with the party’s established procedures.
The Nellithope Assembly constituency remains one of the key segments in Puducherry, and the filing of expressions of interest by aspirants is part of the DMK’s internal candidate selection framework.
