Meet Vignesh from Tamil Nadu who creates art using the sun and magnifying glass. Watch this mesmerising artist in action on the next episode of ‘OMG! Based in Mayiladuthurai, Vignesh practises pyrography, also known as ‘fire art,’ ‘heat painting,’ ‘poker art’ or ‘wood burning’, in which he uses a magnifying glass to turn sunlight into a ‘paintbrush’ and uses its heat to sear imagery onto wooden surfaces. By positioning the glass at particular and various angles, Vignesh creates different ‘strokes’ for burning the top layer of wood creating varying patterns that come together to form art.
