MX Surveillance Robot – India’s New Eyes on Safety From monitoring hazardous industrial sites

Chennai 25th August 2025: The MX Surveillance Robot, developed by robotics company MiBOT Ventures, is designed as a versatile safety and monitoring tool capable of working in both busy urban centres and remote coastal stretches. Built with an all-terrain 4-wheel drive system and a zero turning radius, the robot can navigate narrow lanes, rugged landscapes, and congested areas with ease. Its integrated LiDAR mapping, high-resolution cameras, thermal imaging, and multi-sensor fusion enable it to detect obstacles, monitor large areas, and operate effectively day or night in all weather conditions.

Authorities and civic bodies can deploy it for crowd safety during festivals and political rallies, traffic management through violation detection and license plate recognition, and disaster relief where it can locate survivors and deliver essential supplies in hazardous areas. It also plays a crucial role in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) applications, including outdoor facility monitoring, construction site safety enforcement, industrial hazard detection, and defence perimeter security. It can detect illegal parking and assist in crime prevention by alerting law enforcement in real time.

Speaking about the launch, the CEO of MiBOT Ventures stated, “This is a first-of-its-kind BOT which will revolutionise the industry by ensuring safety is at the helm. We are coming out with surveillance BOT options too.”Adding to this, the CTO of MiBOT Ventures emphasised, “It is time for industry to adapt technology like AI, autonomous robots, and computer vision to make workplaces safe.”

Equipped with a two-way communication system, the MX can directly interact with people in the field, issue evacuation instructions, or guide lost individuals during emergencies. Its weatherproof build ensures uninterrupted operation during heavy rains, heatwaves, or dust storms. While created in Chennai, the MX Surveillance Robot addresses global challenges in public safety, offering a way to enhance security, reduce risks for frontline workers, and improve crisis response. The team at MiBOT Ventures emphasizes that the robot is not intended to replace human personnel but to empower them with smarter tools, making it a valuable asset for building safer, more resilient communities.
