Chennai, October 2024: Nadi Airtechnics Pvt. Ltd., a renowned manufacturer and exporter of industrial fans, has planned to celebrate its 70th anniversary in a unique manner. To mark this significant milestone, the company will inaugurate “The Pink Bay,” a pioneering initiative aimed at empowering women in the engineering sector.
Dr. Sujatha Narayan, Senior Vice President and India Regional Leader of Wabtec Corporation, will be the esteemed guest of honor at the inauguration ceremony on 28th October, the day of Nadi Airtechnics celebrates it’s Jubilee. The Pink Bay is a dedicated assembly line where trained women from the local community will assemble industrial fans for both the Indian and American railroad markets.
Mr J B Kamdar, Chairman and Managing Director Nadi Airtechnics, a leading supplier of heavy-duty medium-sized fans to the Indian rail industry, nuclear power sector, and automotive paint shops, said they have made substantial investments in expanding their manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure. The company’s new facility at Azhanjivakkam in Tiruvallur district, which includes a modern paint shop, has been established at a cost of over ₹150 million. This expansion is expected to boost production capacity by 60% and create new employment opportunities for both men and women in the region. The fans will also be exported to USA and other countries.
Kamdar added, we currently employ 210 people, Nadi Airtechnics anticipates a significant increase in its workforce to 300 once the full expansion is completed. The company’s commitment to empowering women and contributing to the local community aligns with its vision of sustainable growth and social responsibility.
