Chennai, November 19, 2022: Tamil Nadu Cycling League 2022, a thrilling racing event organized by Anna Nagar Cycles and Brand Blitz, a Brand Consulting Company. This prestigious event is supported by the Tamil Nadu Cycling Association and the Cycling Federation of India. The goal of this league is to discover cycling prodigies and future champions of Tamil Nadu. The organizers hope to shortlist bright talents and motivate them to compete in International Championships and the Olympics.
Cycling Federation of India is the national governing body for cycle racing. In the past, they have trained many competitive cyclists for the Olympics, the Asian Games and many major international cycling events.
Tamil Nadu Cycling League comprises of 8 teams from 7 major cities in Tamil Nadu. Capital city Chennai has 2 teams – Namma Chennai Riders and Madras Pro Racers, Coimbatore- Kovai Pedals, Madurai – Madurai Mass Riders, Trichy – Trichy Rock Fort, Salem – Salem Super Riders, Kanyakumari – Kumari Riders and Vellore – Rancycers.
Each competing team has 8 cyclists. The teams are a mix of seasoned cyclists and enthusiastic youngsters. The teams have two experienced national-level cyclists and two cyclists in the under-18 category. In addition to natural talent, the riders were selected and qualified through a rigorous endurance test.
TCL is conducted in two rounds. The 1st round was held on Aug 27th and 28th of this year. Vellore Rancycers won 1st place, followed by Madras Pro Racers as 1st runner up and Kovai pedals as the 2nd Runner up.
Second and the final round of the league is being held on 20 Nov 2022. The team which scores the highest cumulative points in the 1st and the 2nd round will win the Championship Trophy and will be awarded a grand Cash prize of Rs. 3lakhs. The 1st runner-up place will be rewarded with a cash price of 2 lakhs and the second runner-up with 1 lakh and a trophy.
In addition to the league matches, open-category races will also be conducted and winners will be awarded attractive cash prizes and a cycle.
