Rotary Club of Madras East presents the ‘Vocational Excellence Award 2022′ to Awardee Shri Rajhesh Vaidhya in the presence of Padma Shri.’Bombay’ Jayashri Ramnath on 12th April 2022 at Hotel Raintree Teynampet, Chennai

12th April 2022: Rotary Club of Madras East presents the ‘Vocational Excellence Award 2022′ in the presence of Padma Shri.’Bombay’ Jayashri Ramnath (Indian Carnatic Vocalist, Singer and Musician) to Awardee Shri Rajhesh Vaidhya (Professional Veena Artist and Music Director) on 12th April 2022 at Hotel Raintree Teynampet, Chennai.

Rotary Club of Madras East (www.rcme.org) is among the most active clubs in the Rotary District 3232 and is the second largest in Chennai, comprising of 183 members drawn from the professional and business world. We are involved in a number of noteworthy projects in the areas of poverty alleviation, social upliftment, education and health for underprivileged strata of society including slum dwellers, corporation school children and indigent farmers. For these impactful activities, the Club has been recognized by the State, the Rotary District as well as Rotary International.

The Rotary Award for Vocational Excellence is an award for an individual who has a record of a commitment and high achievement in their chosen vocation which has been to the advancement of that vocation and the nation.

The past recipients of this Award include personages who have contributed significantly through their work, such as Mr N Madhusudan – a Visual effect supervisor, Mr L Subramanium – Violonist and Ms Kavitha Krishnamurthy – Playback singer, Mr Harris Jayaraj – Music composer, Mr Ravi Kiran – Gottuvaddyam exponent, Dr Ganapathi Sthapathi – world renowned sculptor, Ms Nithayshree Mahadevan – Carnatic musician, Ms Urmila Sathyanarayana – Odyssey exponent …. Just to a name a few

This year’s awardee is Shri Rajhesh Vaidhya, professional Veena artist and Music Director.  He has hundreds of concerts to his credit and has extensively travelled, performing to fully packed concert halls in India and abroad.  His breathtaking speed accompanied by his expertise in the use of electric and amplified strings make his performances exhilarating and memorable.  He is the recipient of many honours.

The Award Ceremony is planned to be held on the evening of Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Hotel Raintree, Teynampet, Chennai.  Ms ‘Bombay’ Jayashri Ramnath, Indian Carnatic vocalist, singer and musician is the Chief Guest for the award ceremony.
