Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital celebrates 16th Graduation Day 

Chennai, March 2025- Sree Balaji Medical college and Hospital, a leading institution in medical education and research, today celebrated the 16th graduation day in a grand manner. The event marked a significant milestone in the college’s history, recognizing with academic achievements and dedication of its 860 undergraduate and post graduate Students. Gold medals and endowment prizes were awarded for the best outgoing students, university exam toppers and prize exam winners.

His Excellency Mr. Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, former vice president and acting President of Mauritius was the chief guest, Dr. S. Jagathrakshakan, Member of Parliament Former Minister, Dept. of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, graced the occasion. The graduation day was presided over by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Rela chancellor of Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (B.I.H.E.R.), Dr. J. Srinisha Chairperson, N. Elamaran Managing Director, Sree Balaji medical college and Hospital, Prof M. Sundararajan, vice chancellor BIHER, Dr. S. Bhuminathan, Registrar and Dr. P. Sasikumar, Dean of Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital.

Speaking at the Convocation, Mr. Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory said “Today, as we celebrate the achievement of these students, I am honoured to witness the bright future of healthcare taking shape. These young minds have the knowledge, skill and determination to make an impact in their field. I encourage them to continue learning, innovating and serving with compassion and integrity”.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Rela, chancellor of BIHER declared open the graduation day and conferred degrees for the graduates.
Dr. S. Jagathrakshakan, Founder Chairman of BIHER distributed gold medals and prizes to meritorious students.

Dr. J. Srinisha, Chairperson, Sree Balaji Group of Medical College, and Hospital (SBMCH) congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments and encouraged them to strive to make a positive impact on the lives of others and use their knowledge and skills to create a brighter future for themselves and for generations to come.

In his opening remarks, Dr. P. Sasikumar, Dean, SBMCH expressed immense pride in the graduating Students. “We urge you to remain curious, to continue learning, and to stay committed to your values. Remember that your profession is not just a career, but a calling to serve humanity with compassion, empathy, and kindness.”

The event concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. S. Bhuminathan, Registrar BIHER. After the graduates took the oath, pledging to uphold ethical practices and prioritize patient care throughout their careers.
