Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam, the literary wing of Shriram group, one of India’s leading non-banking financial companies, is organizing Thirukkural Elocution, Drawing & Essay Contests 2024, the annual state-level competition from 20th July to 25thAug. 2024, for school and college students across 12 centres covering Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Chennai zone competitions will be held at CSI Jessie Moses Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar on 20th July 2024 and at Christ King Girls Higher Secondary School, East Tambaram on 27th July 2024. The contest at other cities will be held as follows: Vellore on 21st July 2024, Puducherry on 28th July 2024, Coimbatore on 3rd Aug. 2024, Erode on 4th Aug. 2024, Salem on 10th Aug. 2024, Trichy on 11th Aug. 2024, Tanjore on 17th Aug. 2024, Thiruvarur on 18th Aug. 2024, Nellai on 24th Aug. 2024, Madurai on 25th Aug. 2024.

Last date for submitting the filled in application form is 13th July 2024.
The contestants will be divided into 3 groups – Juniors (Classes: 6-8), Seniors (Classes: 9-12) and College (UG, PG, Engineering, Medical and Polytechnic students).
It is worth mentioning that Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam has been conducting this competition every year since 1988 with the view of enhancing awareness on the teachings of Thirukkural among the student community in the State.
