In an initiative to restore peace between Russia and Ukraine, Students of class 6 to 8 of Velammal Main school, Mogappair campus organized a special assembly on 25.2.2022 ( Friday) to seek peace through prayer for children and families amidst the military operations in Ukraine. The assembly commenced with students raising slogans and holding placard, sending messages like “Join us for world peace”, “Say No to War”, “Stop bombing Ukraine”.
An awareness speech by the Vice Principal , Ms. P Sumathi was conveyed on the prevailing situation and impact of the invasion globally which was followed by a 2- minute silent prayer. The assembly concluded with a special song urging peace and harmony across the world. Later, the students went on a procession around the campus conveying the message that life lives in peace.
