Hashini’s Bharatanatyam Arangetram: A Graceful Debut Under the Guidance of Guru Ajeesh Manjeri

Chennai,  April 2026 – Talented upcoming Bharatanatyam debunant, Kumari Hashini Karthikeyan, a dedicated disciple of Guru Ajeesh Manjeri, successfully completed her Arangetram (solo debut performance) on Sunday, 26th April 2026, at 10:00 AM at Rani Seethai Hall, 1st Floor, Chettinadu Towers, Anna Salai, Chennai. The event was organised by the Omkara Art Foundation, which has been nurturing classical dance talent across multiple locations in the city.

The Bharatanatyam arangetram was graced by Chief Guest Mr. C. A. Joy, a distinguished dancer and fashion designer, whose presence added immense artistic stature to the occasion.

The morning witnessed a full house of art connoisseurs, parents, and well‑wishers who gathered to celebrate the transition of Hashini, daughter of Dr Logeswari J & Dr Karthikeyan K, Senior Dental Professors, from a student to a performer. She presented a traditional Arangetram performance with a traditional Pushpanjali, which is a performance thanking God, Guru, the musicians and the audience, followed by classical performance.

Musicians who provided brilliant accompaniment on the occasion were Nattuvangam by Sri Ajeesh, Vocalist by Sri Mithun madhusoodanan, Sri Sivaprasad on the Mridhangam, Sri Rijesh Gopalakrishnan on the Violin and Sri Sujith S Naik on Flute.

Speaking on the occasion, Guru Ajeesh Manjeri said, “Hashini has worked with sincerity and passion. An arangetram is not an end but a beginning – of a lifelong journey with classical dance. I am proud of her performance today and grateful to the audience for their encouragement.”

Guru Ajeesh Manjeri, a Kalakshetra alumnus, has trained Hashini with a strong emphasis on classical purity and creative interpretation. Manjeri is a well known Bharatanatyam performer, choreographer, and founder of Omkara Art Foundation. He has also worked in cinema, with his dance movements famously captured using motion capture technology in Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Endhiran.
