Rajalakshmi Engineering College Celebrates 25th Graduation Day; 1,968 Students Receive Degrees

Chennai, August 2026: Rajalakshmi Engineering College celebrated its 25th Graduation Day on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey. A total of 1,968 students across 26 programmes — 17 undergraduate and nine postgraduate programmes — received their degrees. The ceremony also honoured 10 PhD graduates and 83 gold medal recipients for their academic achievements.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Rajalakshmi Engineering College auditorium in the presence of students, parents, faculty members, college management and well-wishers.

J.C.D. Prabhakar, Hon’ble Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, attended the ceremony as the chief guest and delivered the graduation address. Abhay Meghanathan, Vice Chairman, Rajalakshmi Group, presided over the event.

Education Marks the Beginning of a New Responsibility

Addressing the graduating students, J.C.D. Prabhakar emphasised that receiving a degree should not be seen as the end of learning, but as the beginning of a journey marked by continuous learning, responsibility and meaningful contribution to society.

He urged the graduates to use their knowledge and skills to create solutions that can bring about positive change in society.

“The world you are entering expects not just technical knowledge, but also integrity, adaptability, empathy and the courage to innovate. Carry the values you have learned here with you and use your knowledge to create solutions that can make a difference to society,” he said.

He also encouraged the graduates to embrace the rapid changes taking place in the technology-driven world and remain lifelong learners.

“Those who are willing to learn, unlearn and relearn will own the future. As you begin your professional journey, do not measure success only by the position or status you attain. Instead, measure it by the positive impact you create in society through your knowledge and actions,” he added.

A Milestone for the Entire Rajalakshmi Family

Speaking about the significance of the institution’s 25th Graduation Day, Abhay Meghanathan, Vice Chairman, Rajalakshmi Group, said the milestone represented more than the completion of an academic programme. It reflected the collective efforts of students, parents, faculty members and the institution over the years.

“The 25th Graduation Day of Rajalakshmi is a milestone of great significance. Every graduate carries with them the efforts of their parents, the guidance of their teachers and the values that shaped them during their years here. Today, we are not merely celebrating their degrees, but also the individuals they have become and the countless opportunities that lie ahead,” he said.

He added that Rajalakshmi would continue to focus on preparing students to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.

“Our responsibility does not end with providing education. Our goal is to prepare students to become confident professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs and responsible citizens who can make meaningful contributions to India and the world,” he said.
